Lunar Festival, Umberslade Estate, Warwickshire

6th – 8th June 2014

What’s it all about?

‘An eclectic three-day festival in the spiritual home of Nick Drake’

Who’s playing?

British Sea Power, Donovan, The Polyphonic Spree, Crazy World of Arthur Brown, Temples and Tim Burgess.

What else is on?

Yoga, sausage making (yes, really) and a host of family activities.

Isle of Wight Festival, Isle of Wight

12th – 15th June 2014

What’s it all about?

‘The Isle of Wight Festival is one of the most historical and iconic music festivals in the world’ – supposedly.

Who’s playing?

Biffy Clyro, Calvin Harris, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kings of Leon, Alison Moyet, Boy George, John Newman, Katy B, Rudimental, Suede, Swim Deep, The Horrors, Tom Odell and Travis.

13th – 15th June 2014

What’s it all about?

‘2014 sees the 12th Download festival featuring a mix of heavy rock music from 150 acts over five stages at Donington Park, the spiritual home of rock.’

Avenged Sevenfold, Linkin Park, Aerosmith, Alter Bridge, Fall Out Boy, The Offspring, Rob Zombie, Status Quo and Trivium.

Glastonbury Festival, Worthy Farm, Pilton

25th – 29th June 2014

What’s it all about?

The mother of UK festivals and the one you probably won’t get tickets for. If it rains, you’ll get muddy, if it doesn’t rain, you’ll get muddy.

Dolly Parton, Arcade Fire, Kasabian, The Black Keys, Blondie, Disclosure, Dolly Parton, Elbow, Jack White, James Blake, Lana Del Rey and Lily Allen.

Wireless Festival, Finsbury Park, London and Perry Park, Birmingham

4th – 6th July 2014

What’s it all about?

Fresh for 2014, Wireless will be held in two locations. You won’t need to camp or carry a tent as this is an urban festival, simply dip in and out.

British Summer Time, Hyde Park, London

4th – 13th July 2014

What’s it all about?

Barclaycard presents British Summer Time in Hyde Park, a 10-day summer extravaganza featuring classic rock and current pop music served with comedy performances, films, food and festival fun.

Described as ‘The Most Handsome Bike Race in the World’, the 3 day festival is also a stylish celebration of food and drink. Sponsors like Hendrick’s make an ideal opportunity to watch while sipping a G&T’. ‘British’ at its very best.

Lovebox Festival, Victoria Park, London

18th – 19th July 2014

What’s it all about?

Lovebox is a two-day music festival held in London and has been running since 2002, founded by DJs Groove Armada. It’s hip, full of dance tents and features an eclectic mix of entertainment and music.

Chase & Status, MIA, Annie Mac, A$AP Rocky, Bonobo, Crystal Fighters, The Horrors, Katy B and Sub Focus.

The Secret Garden Party, Abbots Ripton, Huntingdon

24th – 27th July 2014

What’s it all about?

Possibly one of the most beautiful and magical festivals in the UK, the Secret Garden Party delivers a blend of creativity, colour and mystery. Set in 10 acres of garden, the Secret Garden Party is pure escapism whichever way you look at it.

Little Dragon, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Clean Bandit, Foxes, Martha Reeves and The Vandellas, Deap Vally, Morcheeba and The Correspondents.

Global Gathering, Long Marston Airfield, Stratford-upon-Avon

25th – 26th July 2014

What’s it all about?

‘GlobalGathering is the UK’s most cutting edge and forward thinking electronic music festival brand, founded by Angel Music Group in 2001’ says GlobalGathering themselves. If you like dance music and only dance music, then this is the festival for you.

V Festival, Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, South Staffordshire

Virgin’s flagship yearly event which features a line-up of acts that rotate across the two sites.

Justin Timberlake, The Killers, Ed Sheeran, Elbow, Example, Kaiser Chiefs, Manic Street Preachers, Paolo Nutini and Lily Allen.

Creamfields, Daresbury, Cheshire

22nd – 24th August 2014

What’s it all about?

Born in 1998, the original dance festival set out to provide the clubbing world with a bespoke large-scale outdoor event. Creamfields has gone on to become a famous open-air club-fest.

Who’s playing?

Avicii, Deadmau5, Armin van Buuren, Steve Angello, Afro Jack, Annie Mac, Claude Vonstroke, Eric Prydz, Pete Tong and Skream.

Reading and Leeds Festival, Richfield Avenue, Reading and Bramham Park, Leeds

22nd – 24th August 2014

What’s it all about?

Taking over both Reading and Leeds simultaneously, the three-day festival features a mix of rock, urban and dance acts which rotate across the two locations.

Who’s playing?

Queens of the Stone Age, Paramore, Arctic Monkeys, Blink 182, Bombay Bicycle Club, The Courteeners, Disclosure, Imagine Dragons, Jake Bugg, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis and Vampire Weekend.

Bestival, Robin Hill Country Park, Isle of Wight

4th – 7th September 2014

What’s it all about?

Created by Rob Da Bank, Bestival is an award-winning 4-day boutique music festival set at Robin Hill – a beautiful leafy country park near Downend and Newport in the heart of the Isle of Wight.

Who’s playing?

OutKast, Chic featuring Nile Rodgers, Foals, Beck, Basement Jaxx, Busta Rhymes, Disclosure, Laura Mvula, London Grammar, Major Lazer, Paloma Faith, Sam Smith and Wild Beasts.
