Festival Fever!

One weekend of warm weather in London, followed by a serious wave of Coachella FOMO means only one thing… Festival season has arrived!

To get us in the festival frame of mind, our design team have been looking at some of the most creative examples of festival marketing in events accross the UK.

Over the past 10 years, festivals have evolved from ‘an event’ into a culture; Festival culture is now reflected in all aspects of fashion & lifestyle, and marketers can’t get enough of it!

Here’s how some clever brands used their creativity to stand out from the crowd..

  1. Lauren Perrier’s ‘Orangerie’ at Wilderness Festival

Champagne brand Laurent-Perrier created a unique 1920s-themed marquee and terrace called ‘The Orangerie’ for those attending Wilderness Festival in 2015. With lavish chandeleirs, art-deco interior and 1920’s themed flapper-girl entertainment, this stepped away from the rustic style which dominates festivals and gave guests a taste of classic luxury.

  1. EE Charging Bull, Glastonbury 2015

At Glastonbury last year, EE created an activation designed to solve one of the biggest festival headaches for anyone (with a mobile phone): dead batteries and getting internet coverage. The activation took the form of a full size ‘charging bull’ in the company’s bold brand colours, which then acted as both a double-speed wi-fi hotspot and Power Bar charging station- EE, we salute you!

  1. Virgin Trains, No.6 Festival 2015

We love this activation as it brings to light a trick which many brands seem to overlook- the PRE-festival consumer experience.  Virgin Trains targeted festival-goers planning to travel to festival No.6 using public transport, offering them exclusive priority fares on these particular train services, which was an industry first. On the day of travel, they ran the No.6 Express – an exclusive train for festival goers from Crewe to Bangor which featured live entertainment, face painting and a bar- if only National rail could do this for our morning commutes! Watch the video here .

  1. Jagermeister’s Summer JagerHaus pop-up

Home to the ice cold Jägermeister, the JägerHaus is a barn-like pop-up which twists and turns as the day turns to night, with live entertainment, activities and of course, a Jäger bar! The JägerHaus popped up at Field Day, Bestival, Boomtown, Beat-Herder and Kendal Calling. Watch this space as the JägerHaus experience continues this summer..

  1. Ciroc’s Thameside London Riviera oasis

This five-month boutique pop-up, was created by Nick Zuppar and his team at The Food Firm for Ciroc Vodka. Inspired by a mishmash of cuban cabana, chilled Miami beachhouse and chic French Riviera, this colourful thameside pop-up gave londoner’s the ultimate opportunity to escape the office, and enjoy a Ciroc cocktail whilst pretending to be on holiday (weather permitting..)! The pop-up was also host to a hub of summer activities and entertainment, including cocktail masterclasses and live music.

Top 5: Easter Weekend Brunch’ing

We don’t know about you, but by the time Easter weekend actually comes around, we have already made our way through a mountain of crème eggs, mini eggs, malteaser bunnies, and rice crispy chocolate nests…  If you feel the same,  here’s our rundown of the most Eggscellent brunches which London has to offer (see what we did there?)!

1) Duck and waffle
Spend-o-meter: £££
Situated on the 40th floor of the City of London’s well known Heron Tower is Duck & Waffle, one of the financial district’s most iconic restaurants. If you’re looking for fancy, you’ll find it here; with incredible views over london, complimented by a menu of mimosas, banana brulee waffles and duck egg en-cocote!
2) Jar Kitchen
Spend-o-meter: ££
Head to Jar Kitchen this Good Friday, where this independantly run restaurant will be serving a delicious Bottomless Brunch, made with the freshest of seaonally home-grown ingredients.
If you’re all egg’d out, try the hot cross bun pancakes with earl grey icecream (yum!).

3) Bad Egg
Spend-o-meter: £
This place is seriously good value for money; bottomless brunch menu lets you choose three food items plus juices/soda/coffee for £22 and includes an option for unlimited cava, mimosas, or bloody marys which knocks the price up to £32.50.
Our favourite dish is the Chilaquiles – Essentially nachos with goat curd and a fried egg. Nachos for breakfast? Now you’re talking.

4) New Street Grill
Spend-o-meter: £££
With Brunch on Saturdays only, this is your post-good Friday ticket to prosecco paradise. This city-slickers brasserie has a dimly lit members club feel, and a menu to match. Expect a hearty (and meaty!) menu full of english classics like scotch egg with black pudding, and cured salmon with mustard dressing.
5) Mr Bao
Spend-o-meter: £
With sparkling sake, wasabi and sriracha getting in on the party, it’s a slap in the face of trad brunching, in a very, very good way. Bottomless house cocktails for one hour £14; bottomless bloody mary for one hour £17.

Fullcircle Team : Mother’s Day Special

With Mother’s Day around the corner, what better time to reflect on all the great things that our mums do for us, and how they have helped us become the people we are today! We asked some of our artists and staff at Fullcircle to share their answers- here’s what they had to say!

The best advice my mother has given me is…
Always be yourself, we are all equal. Do the best you can and give it your all.

My mum is the best because….
She is a great listener, gives great advice and raised me & my brother to have good morals & treat others as you wish to be treated. Great mum & friend

The most surprising thing about becoming my mum is…
She thinks I got my singing voice from her! This may not be true…

Growing up, I’ve realized that my mum….
Is amazing! She has always given us everything in life that we could ever need, surrounding us with love, laughter and music.

My proudest mummy moment was…
I am always proud of her!

I will be spending mothers day….
Unfortunately I won’t be able to spend it with my mum as I live in London and parents live at home in Northern Ireland- I did an early Mother’s Day last week instead!

The best mothers day gift is….
Knowing that we have a great relationship and speak on the phone most days in life. Love a little facetime & making great memories.

Title: Singer & Actress. Mum of one beautiful little girl Daisy – who turns 2 next month.

The best advice my mother has given me is…

Don’t judging a person til you’ve walked in their shoes- accept everyone as they are & embrace their imperfections as its what makes them unique!

My mum is the best because…

she is always there for me. Always.

The most surprising thing about becoming a mum is…

the exhaustion! And THE LOVE. Love that you didn’t know was possible- the bond is so huge it takes over everything & changes you as a person… for the better.

Growing up, I’ve realized that my mum…

gave me all she could and more, was incredibly patient,  kind and gave me the best start in life I could have wished for.

My proudest mummy moment was…

witnessing my little ones first steps, seeing her share and be kind to others- generally being a loving & cuddly little girl!

I will be spending mothers day…

with my daughter, running around and playing!

The best mothers day gift is…

precious time with my little Daisy. And time with family- just being together.

always try your best in all you do and never give up at the first hurdle.

My mum is the best because….

she gives the best advice and is always able to cheer me up in any situation I’m in.

The most surprising thing about my mum is…

that she is the first one on the dancefloor with a very strong Bacardi & coke in her hand doing the two step.

Growing up, I’ve realized that my mum…

has supported me in every decision I’ve made (good & bad) and someone I also call my best friend as well as my mum.

My Mum’s proudest moment was…

at Graduation when I looked at her from the stage with a tear in her eye, and the biggest smile I’ve ever seen on her face!

I will be spending mother’s day….

at Afternoon Tea with my mum and sisters at Nancy’s Tea Room, eating too many scones with plenty of jam and clotted cream.

The best mother’s day gift is….

anything personalised or engraved with a personal message that can be kept & treasured.

Name: Max Elliott

My mum is the best because….

she raised a great son!

The most surprising thing about becoming a mum is…

the fact that I’m a man and incapable of becoming one

Growing up, I’ve realized that my mum….

had to put up with a lot! Having my own child has opened me up to the debt of gratitude I owe her

I will be spending mothers day….

with my mother in law and my newborn son doing the after-eight challenge!

The best mothers day gift is….

a homemade pasta shell drawing. Failing that…flowers.

The Green Edit

“A refreshing and revitalizing shade, Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings.”

The official insitute of colour has spoken, and PANTONE 15-0343 is the colour of 2017. So, what exactly does this mean? Well, in the words of The Pantone Color Institute themselves, the colour of the year is symbolic of what we see taking place in our global culture,  and serves as an overall expression of mood, and attitude for that year.

With the technical colour talk aside, this basically means: this is the year to love all things GREEN! For the design team at FC, this is easy- fresh, vibrant, and versatile, shades of green can be used to bring energy to a space, as well as create a calm and neutral environment.

We caught up with our Head of Design, Celina Joyce, to get her top 5 versatile ways of incorporating the colour into event spaces- heres what she had to say…

Adding plants to a space instantly adds life and texture. One of the biggest trends this year, they can be incorporated into a huge range of spaces, to suit a whole spectrum of styles and moods. From delicate floristry, to bold palms (and lets not forget the cactus trend!) – this really is one of the most fun and versatile ways to add colour to a venue.

With summer fast approaching, clients dream of beautiful outdoor venues, pimms over ice and sunshine- but we know all too well that the weather isnt always on our side! Astroturf is a fun and effective way of creating that ‘summer feeling’ – whether you’re indoors or out. Our astroturf furniture is always a big hit in the summer months- and perfect for those out-of-season press days!

Dont shy away from experimenting with tone- layering different shades of the same colour will add depth to a space and prevent it from looking disjointed. If you’re feeling a little braver, pairing green with pink creates a retro, funky finish.

Dressing a venue is often what completes it, and selecting the right accessories for a space is crucial to the end product! Vases, ornaments, soft furnishings and plants are all subtle and effective ways to add texture and colour to a space.

Uplighters, neons, strobes- lighting is a great way to create mood and atmosphere with colour. The right lighting can transform a venue, so we work closely with our production team to make sure our designs work hand-in-hand to wow our clients.

Rio Olympics at Sushi Samba

It’s finally here! The long awaited Rio Olympics are upon us and Fullcircle have everything you need to celebrate, Brazilian style! The Olympics has brought an influx of Brazilian parties, each bringing with them their very own interpretations of the theme.

Fullcircle were given free rein over the Sushi Samba venue at the top of the Heron Tower this summer with an all singing, all dancing Rio Olympic theme. The venue was packed full of our best Rio theming and entertainment. The famous Tree Terrace was transformed into the Amazon Forest, filled with 10ft banana palms, grass covered furniture and bar top and even some sneaky little forest creatures peering through the bushes!

Showcasing the other side of Rio’s culture was the seriously colourful Street Party Terrace with bright crates and oil drums decorated with an array of multi-coloured flowers, jars and vases.

Entertainment included everything from Football, Basketball and Capoeira freestylers and Olympic style performers, to a snake artist and pick pocket roaming around surprising guests.

This was a perfect opportunity for all Fullcircle’s departments to join forces and do what we do best….. create something beautiful and memorable!

SW7 at The Science Museum

As preferred supplier for Entertainment at the Science Museum this summer we worked closely with the team to create a programme of entertainment that encompasses and complements the beauty of the museum for the SW7 Summer Showcase.

Guests entered the venue to the sounds of the hustle and bustle of Rio streets intertwined with the sounds of distant drums. As guests descended the entrance steps they were treated to the stunning sight that is Valerie performing in Fullcircle’s aerial Birdcage suspended from the rafters of the Science Museum’s Energy Hall.

Guests were then treated to some fantastic, Olympic worthy, gymnastics as they were guided through the museum’s stunning spaces finishing in Making the Modern World. The finale of the night was AFISHIAL performing live cued graphics, sounds and LED drums, which blew guests away.

It just goes to show you can do a lot with a 1 hour set up! check it out for yourself here
